THAT's why you can't separate POLITICS from RELIGION.. both are driven by the spiritual war.
The "knowledge" in the above quotation; I believe is NOT referring to science, medicine, technology, or any other human advancement or discovery. The knowledge here refers to knowledge of a "spiritual war" and finally an awareness of it by the human race.
THIS WAR-> For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]. Ephesians 6:12
